Q: How does a surfing wetsuit work?

All surfing wetsuits work by letting in a very small amount of sea water. It is then your body temperature that warms up the thin layer of water. The material called Neoprene in which your wetsuit is made of consists of small air filled cells which creates insulation allowing you to then maintain the heat.

Q: What’s the difference between a back zip and a chest zip surfing wetsuit?

A chest zip is a horizontal zip found on the front of the wetsuit and back zip is a vertical zip found on the back of a wetsuit. A wetsuit with a chest zip allows you greater flexibility but is harder to get into. A back zip wetsuit is not as flexible but is easier to get into.

Q: Can you wear a surfing wetsuit for open water swimming?

Yes, you can wear a surfing wetsuit for open water swimming as well as surfing boots, open water swim socks, surfing gloves and surfing hoods.
